Richie Miller

Massage Therapist

Richie Miller

Richie Miller is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He moved to Australia in 2011. Since 7 years old Richie has been doing many different forms of dance. He joined a show called Tap Dogs in 2009 and toured with them all over the world for 10 years. Through out his touring years, Richie had many physio/massage sessions that he received. From those sessions, Richie found his interest in wanting to learn massage. Richie is now certified in Brandon Raynors Therapeutic Massage. Its a form of deep tissue massage, where the focus is on excavating the whole body of tension. Various Tools can be used in session to help rid tension. In Raynor Massage, a lot of the focus of a treatment can be on the hands and Feet. This is due to Brandon Raynors belief that a lot of tension in the body, can be stored in the hands and feet. He says, “if you release the hands and feet, you can release the rest of the body.” At times this modality can be very intense and release emotional releases for some people. Its not for everyone. Raynor massage is a mix of different body work modalities, making it very unique. As Raynor Massage isn’t for everyone, Richie also offers Relaxing massage, Deep tissue massage, reflexology and more. Richie is here to create a safe and nurturing treatment catered to the client. He’s there to hold space and to provide exactly what the client needs. You can guarantee to walk out of the room with your whole body feeling activated complimented with a floating sensation and less tension. Richie has been a body worker for 2 years now. He continues to learn and grow, forever evolving his craft.

Alex Midas

Yoga Instructor

Alex Midas

Alex Midas has been practicing and teaching yoga for over a decade. She began her yoga pathway as a result of a health scare which inspired Alex to change her lifestyle. Years later she was diagnosed with breast cancer and chose to use alternative therapies which in turn increased her knowledge in health and well-being. Japanese Yoga was one modality that supported Alex during her treatment. Yoga was a powerful tool which assisted her physically and kept her mentally and emotionally strong.

Japanese Yoga (ki) (Oki) is a therapy meridian based yoga using Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Five Element Theory. Specific breath techniques are also used to help move Qi (energy) through the body shifting blood stagnation which allows the body to heal and repair itself.

Alex has created her own fusion in Japanese yoga after completing her training with Lisa Masters at The Yoga House. She continued to increase her knowledge by attending many workshops and courses over the years. The main ones being with the Ishi Family Yoga School from Japan.

Alex is renowned for her expert knowledge, joyful energy and soulful voice. Her goal in teaching yoga is to assist students in achieving optimum health. Her classes are popular, well structured and will leave you feeling strong, balanced, grounded, calm, and a sense of lightness in mind & body.

Jessica Humphries

Yoga Instructor

Jessica Humphries

After being forced into a yoga class in the late nineties as an awkward, developing teen, Jess found solace in the meditative aspects of the practice and its ability to create clarity and confidence. Her interest in life’s deeper questions led her to study western philosophy at university, and eventually eastern philosophy through her formal yoga training. She completed her first yoga teacher training in 2011 whilst simultaneously working in the corporate world in Sydney. Of course, soon after, upon completion of her training she decided to throw it all in and move to Byron Bay to teach yoga full time. She has worked at studios and retreat centres in the area since then and also spent several years as the editor of Australia’s biggest yoga magazine – Australian Yoga Journal. She now spends her time teaching and writing professionally about all things yoga, philosophy, wellbeing and life.

Jess has studied many different styles of yoga – from strong, Vinyasa power to chilled-out Yin and everything in between. She loves how yoga can support us through all phases of life – inviting her students to tune into their body’s innate wisdom while creating the space to explore and grow at their own pace.
